- 5 FACTORS OF AWESOMESAUCE PIZZA:
1) Dough: 9/10
They say in their website:
“Our dough is obtained thanks to the mixture of type 0 flour with low protein value 10% wholemeal flour rich in fiber and minerals, contain no foreign substances to wheat and have not undergone bleaching artificial. Mix the two flours Dallagiovanna allows us to get a very rich nutritionally dough, perfect to be subjected to our personal leavening process.”
Plus they also use a 3-phase leavening process that really makes the dough light and you can taste that it is made with high quality ingredients.
It is thin in the middle, while very puffy and thick on the outside (it follows the typical neapolitan pizza tradition) and it was also perfectly cooked.
I’m not giving 10 to this factor only because there are some places in which you can choose among different kinds of flour and some of these options will make the dough even lighter so that is a 10.. but this is a totally deserved 9!
2) Toppings: 8/10
This time I’m reviewing 4 pizzas!!! This is because the main concept of this place is called pizza sharing: everybody can choose 2 mini pizzas at the fixed price of 10€ and taste more toppings with friends.
I went there with a friend of mine and we chose 4 different toppings and shared all of them equally 🙂 Cool stuff. We tried to make a balanced choice so we ordered 2 red pizzas (with tomato sauce) and 2 white pizzas (without tomato sauce).
The red ones were Zucca and Formaggio and this last one was my favorite because even though it’s a classic pizza, the presence of Pecorino cheese on the top kinda made it special; plus the Zucca one was a bit disappointing because we couldn’t taste the pumpkin cream at all (maybe the tomato sauce covered it so I suggest you to maybe try the white one!).
The white pizzas are instead Mortadella and Fico and in this case the first one was my favorite because the pistachio cream was super tasty and bologna too of course: together they made a great mix. The Fico one was very disappointing instead because there weren’t actually figs on it but they put some kind of figs jam that was really too sweet and cover all the ham flavor 😦
Therefore I think that these four groups of toppings are good together but they should change something on the Fico and the Zucca because they have a great potential so they can become 2 great pizzas too.
Finally the quantity of the toppings was enough but as you can see on the pictures below the crust is so big that the part with toppings is almost invisible; the quality of the ingredients instead was good for sure but they don’t state the provenience of each one of them..
3) Value: 8/10
We paid 10€ each for 2 mini pizzas and I think this is a very fair deal since almost all the toppings are very special and the concept is very fun and fulfilling.
However I’m giving this factor 8 because if you want a normal size pizza is almost impossible to create one of the special mix of toppings available for the little ones without spending less than 12€ and to me this makes no sense: the sharing concept is great but they should also let people have their big special pizza at the same conditions.
You can understand what I’m saying looking at the menu below.
4) Service: 9/10
This restaurant is almost a self service place since when you arrive you need to order your pizzas and beverage at the counter and then they will bring them to your table.
They are very organized though: you can book a table online easily and the meal is ready in a few minutes.
The pizza is not sliced but they give you a very nice pizza wheel to do this job properly.
The place is noisy, especially during the weekend but in a way that it doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable or willing to leave: there’s a very pleasant atmosphere.
5) Side Effects: 9/10
After eating these pizzas I was very thirsty and I think it was because of the raw ham and sausage that are always very salty. However I’m pretty sure that the dough was fine because I didn’t feel bloated like when you eat something heavy 🙂
- OVERALL RATING: 8.6/10 (awesome pizza sharing concept in Milan!)
- RECORD SUGGESTION: we had the table number 27 so Riverdales “Invasion USA” was on my mind while eating my super delicious pizzas.
