- 5 FACTORS OF AWESOMESAUCE PIZZA:
1) Dough: 9/10
The dough is very thin in the middle, while puffy and thick on the outside. It follows the typical neapolitan pizza tradition (the crust is not crunchy, but very soft and delicious instead) but since is so thinest in the middle and it is made in a natural way with organic ingredients it’s way lighter than usual.
However it’s slightly burned here and there so I wouldn’t rate this factor 10.
2) Toppings: 10/10
They use seasonal ingredients and there a lot of unusual mix toppings and pizza shapes.
Pizza Girella is original because of the mozzarella rolls but its flavor in the end is very common since ham, fior di latte cheese and arugula are usual ingredients; however I loved datterini tomatoes, they are super sweet!
Pizza del papa is definitely the most delicious one because zucchini are not only boiled, but they are well stewed and they become a tasty cream together with provola and pumpkin.
The quantity of the ingredients is perfect and you can clearly taste the different ingredients.
Finally I think that these ingredients make a good and unique mix together.
3) Value: 8/10
The value of these pizzas is actually 9€ and 11€ but they added 1€ as a service fee: I think that this is quite fair, even though the service is nothing special.
Plus this is not a normal pizza since the quality of the ingredients is very high, the mix of toppings is special and the preparation of the dough follow the old neapolitan tradition; however the cheaper option (Marinara 5€) is not actually that cheap -.-‘ since you usually pay 3€ for that.
As for the other special pizzas I think that their price is reasonable instead.
You can understand what I’m saying reading the menu below.
4) Service: 8/10
This restaurant is always crowded, they don’t take reservations so if you want this pizza you really need to wait a lot (both for a table and to get the pizza done).
On Monday night at 8 p.m. we didn’t wait a lot but as soon we got out of the restaurant we saw a big line waiting to dine
The pizza is not sliced and the waiters are not very kind; however the place is very nice :).
5) Side Effects: 9/10
During the night, after eating these pizzas I felt very bloated but I drunk a lot of beer so I can’t blame only the pizza for it. However I didn’t feel super full or thirsty.
- OVERALL RATING: 8.8/10 (innovative Neapolitan pizza in Milan!)
